Eric Carle
Eric Carle은 The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown bear, Brown bear, What do you See? 등 어린이 그림 동화의 일러스레이터로 명성을 떨치고 있습니다. 1929년 New York의 Suracuse에서 태어난 에릭 칼은 6살때 독일로 이주하여 교육을 받고, Stuttgart에 있는 유명한 아트스쿨을 졸업하였습니다.
뉴욕타임즈에서 그래픽 디자이너로 일하고, 광고 에이전시의 아트 디렉터로 일하다가 저명한 교육학자이자 작가인 빌 마틴과 공동 작업을 하면서(Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?) 자신의 작품을 쓰기 시작했습니다.
그의 작품은 밝고 즐거운 색채와 독특한 콜라주 기법으로 아이들의 순수한 호기심을 표현하고 있습니다. 그의 책은 25개국 언어로 번역되어 수백만 어린이에게 사랑 받고 있습니다. |
